The Tampa Bay Junior Bass Club is for 11 - 18 years old youth that want to learn bass fishing. They meet the 3rd Thursday of every month (except Dec) at North Dale Recreation Center @ 6:30 pm. Please Visit website for more information.

Ina Mahoney died on October 23, 2009 after a very short battle with Colon Cancer. There were no symptoms and it was discovered with a routine exam. After surgery and one chemotherapy treatment, it was determined that the cancer was to far advanced to beat. Hospice was called to help take care of her. Gulfside Regional came in with a team of professionals to help with her care. They were great people to work with and made the next month a lot less stressful. They took care of Ina's needs as well as the families questions and concerns. They never charged the family a cent and depend on contributions to help them stay in business.

Bay Area Bassmasters would like to do our part to keep this organization helping those in need. We have pledged a $1.00 a pound for all fish brought to the scales. We raised $12,710.69 in 2022 year for a total of $75,513.51 in total donations since our first event in 2009. We are looking forward to continuing with this tradition in 2023 and beyond.

Each Month we will be putting together a Club Email to help keep our members up to date on what is happening within the Club.

LATEST ISSUE:

It's time to go fishing again. It's time to make our first trek down to Istokpoga this year. I was there Sunday and there was a tournament going on. The fish were big and numerous. It took over 30 pounds to take that crown. Let's hope they are biting that well for us Saturday. Our sponsor this month is Richard's Quality Automotive, you know, Tom Craighead. He will go out boat one on this historic body of water, like he needs any help on Poga. Thank you for your support this year and every year. And remember to support those that support us. You can't get better automotive work than you will get at his place. Thanks Tom.

This month is Gulfside Regional Hospice month as well. It's fitting that the man who started all this will be our featured guest as we present Gulfside their check for our 2021 season. I didn't think there was any way that we could exceed last year but you guys did it. You guys came together last year and raised $10181.67 for Gulside. This will bring our total to almost $63,000 we have raised since we started this 13 years ago. If you didn't get your donation in last year, bring it with you and we will add it to the total. I want to wholeheartedly thank each and everyone of you for your generosity this year and in the past. What a difference we have made in so many people's lives with that money. Make sure you make this meeting because it is a tear jerker. Although it is usually me who gets teary eyed.

Bay Area Bassmasters is a B.A.S.S. affiliated Chapter (Chapter #8853). Our club was formed with the same purpose as those of the National Chapters - enjoyment, exchange of fishing ideas, competitions, youth programs, and the promotion of Bass fishing as a major sport activity. We are also actively involved in conservation efforts that will continue to improve the quality of Bass fishing waters in Florida.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!!

Thank you for deciding to become a member of Florida’s # 1 largest B.A.S.S. Nation “Buddy" team tournament trail bass fishing club. Below is a brief description of how the Buddy team trail works.

TEAM TRAIL

After becoming members, you and your Buddy, or another member of your choice, fish together as a team through out the year. You are awarded points based on your tournament results from each month. (Tournament Rules) These points are accumulated through out the year to decide who ends up “Team Anglers of the Year” (TAOY). Adults may choose to fish with their own children as a team provided their child is a member of the kids club. (Bay Area Bassmasters is one of the only bass clubs in Florida which allows kids under 16 to fish in competition with adults). Alternates are allowed provided they are a current member of Bay Area Bassmasters. Tournaments are usually scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of each month. Our monthly meetings are always on the Tuesday before the tournament. At the end of the year, as long as you have fished at least 7 out of the 10 tournaments, you will qualify to fish in the “Classic” tournament which is a 2 day event to decide which team is the champion of the year.
